MIDWEST CITY BOMBERS
Coach: JACQUES WASHINGTON
2-8
Midwest City enters 2026–27 hungry to rebound from a 2-8 season and “bring MCHS back to its rightful place as true contenders in the state of Oklahoma.” Head coach Jacques Washington, in his second year at the school, says the Bombers “bring back a lot of experience offensively and defensively” and have a “trigger man who can propel this team to success.” The staff around him is extensive, including offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Rod Richardson, assistant head coach/offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Brandon Webb, offensive line coach Grant Schreppel, receivers coach Samuel Cade, running backs coach Ty Ellis, defensive line coach Christopher Smiley, edge coach Nkosiyabo Adebowale, linebackers coach Rock Tali and defensive backs coach Dominique Barnes-Carn. Booster club president Greg Riley helps organize support off the field.
On offense, Midwest City returns six starters and will build around senior quarterback Denymn Friday (6-1, 185). Washington calls him a potential breakout player with “superb arm talent,” a natural leader who “can make any throw on the field,” and he is the Bombers’ Top 100 nominee. Up front, tackle Daidrien Jones (6-3, 255, Sr.) anchors the offensive line, while junior receiver Dayveon Cochren (5-10, 155) caught 28 passes for 535 yards and four touchdowns last season. Wide receiver Josiah Brown (6-3, 160, Jr.) added 13 receptions for 184 yards and two scores, and junior running back Vontae Holmes (5-7, 145) provides quickness out of the backfield. Tight end Aaden Sutton (6-2, 190, Sr.) rounds out the top offensive group, giving Friday multiple weapons in the passing game.
Defensively, the Bombers bring back seven starters and expect that experience to pay off. Defensive back Richard Harris (5-8, 170, Sr.) posted 44 tackles and two interceptions, and linebacker Brandon Greenhoward (5-10, 185, Jr.) had 40 tackles and two tackles for loss. Senior defensive lineman Zontae Sanders (6-1, 250) contributed 21 tackles and one sack, while fellow senior lineman Daquan Washington (6-0, 319) adds size in the interior. Senior corner Sean Miller (5-10, 150) and defensive back Kevin Curry (5-10, 150, Jr.) complete the highlighted group, with Curry recording 17 tackles. With a veteran front and secondary, Midwest City aims to tighten up defensively and complement its offensive firepower.
